Sentinel Crystals are a type of pickup item that appear in Doom Eternal, taking the place of the Argent Energy Cell from the 2016 game. When collected, a Sentinel Crystal will open up a menu that allows the player to select between health, armor, and ammo upgrades, four of each being attached to six perks. When both upgrades on a perk have been made, the perk is enabled.
Sentinel Crystals also appear in Mighty Doom, albeit colored purple, to serve as the game's premium currency which can be accrued more rapidly with in-app purchases. In the final version of the game client, it is possible to farm some crystals by watching ads and completing objectives, with some random days offering 20 crystals that can be instantly collected from the daily store for free. Sentinel Crystals are key to purchasing gear crates to obtain enough copies of gear to fuse into stronger and rarer forms of such gear.
