Karina Simons was an individual in the Mars Outpost. She e-mailed to Brett Smith saying that he can persuade some people by keeping talking to them. Smith then thanked her for the tip.

At one point Dr. Bradley Jensen asked Karina to investigate the employment history of Dr. Guerard. To her surprise Karina found no record in the UACHQ on him, and she mentioned this to Smith. In turn he said that it is expectable for some records to be lost in that huge bureaucracy.
